Don't forget to acknowledge that Mother's Day might be challenging for some and give them an option to opt-out of any Mother's Day marketing communications.
History of Mother's Day:
Mother's Day is celebrated in many countries throughout the world, but the date may vary depending on the country. In the US, Canada, andAustralia, Mother's Day will be celebrated on May 11, 2025 and is celebrated annually on the 2nd Sunday in May.
Mother's Day is rooted in the tradition of “Mothering Sunday” whose origin is that of a Christian festival of the same name. "Mothering Sunday" was traditionally celebrated on the fourth Sunday during Lent, since its intention was to encourage people to return to their “mother” church for a special service every year.
Over the centuries, the "Mothering Sunday" stepped away from religion and instead evolved to focus on the celebration of mothers and became the holiday we now celebrate today.
