The Last of Us Season 1 Recap:
Joel and Ellie travel across a post-apocalyptic America, evading the authoritarian FEDRA regime that controls the quarantine zones. Their journey leads them to a hidden Firefly lab, where doctors believe Ellie’s immunity could be the key to a cure. But Joel soon learns the devastating truth—the procedure would kill her. Unable to face losing another child, he massacres the Fireflies, including the lead surgeon, and rescues an unconscious Ellie. To protect her from the truth, he later tells her the Fireflies had failed to create a cure. The season ends as they arrive in Jackson, a thriving survivor community in Wyoming.

Here’s a fun but fairly obvious fact—The Last of Us features some familiar faces! Both Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who lead the show as Joel and Ellie, are Game of Thrones alumni. Pascal played the charismatic Prince Oberyn Martell, while Ramsey portrayed the fearless Lyanna Mormont. Both characters became fan favorites—and both met brutal, unforgettable ends.
