Angela Hennessy in Conversation with Key Jo Lee
The SECA Art Award, which has recognized over 90 Bay Area artists since 1967, will spotlight 2024 recipient Angela Hennessy in a special event. Hennessy will discuss her work and inspirations with Key Jo Lee, chief of curatorial affairs at the Museum of the African Diaspora.
The event is free with museum admission and coincides with SFMOMA’s free First Thursday for Bay Area residents.
Free Community Day: Ruth Asawa
Celebrate the opening ofRuth Asawa: Retrospective at SFMOMA’s Free Community Day! Enjoy performances and hands-on art activities led by local artists who, like Ruth Asawa, believe in the power of art to bring people together. Fun for all ages, including special Second Sunday programs for kids.
This event is in partnership with Ruth’s Table, an organization inspired by Ruth Asawa’s legacy. Ruth’s Table provides creative opportunities for older adults and adults with disabilities, fostering community connections through art. Don’t miss this day of creativity and connection!
This is a free event, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVP is encouraged and can be done on the SFMOMA.org website - Tickets available starting April 1.
Art Bash at SFMOMA
Join SFMOMA’s signature fundraising event featuring an immersive dinner by Firelei Báez, a live auction with Sotheby’s Phyllis Kao, and a museumwide celebration with art activations, live music (in partnership with Stern Grove Festival), and performances by Bay Area artists.
All proceeds support SFMOMA’s education and community programs.
